Gary’s 30-year career spans multiple industries, which began as an Air Force Officer in the 83rd Fighter Weapon Squadron. With a Master’s in Operations Research from the Air Force Institute of Technology and an MBA from the University of Dayton, Gary’s career has focused on helping organizations improve operational processes, product development, product quality, profitability, and customer satisfaction. While in the private sector, Gary stood up a third-party nation-wide distribution facility for General Motors, which resulted in improved cycle times and customer satisfaction while reducing costs by $20 million annually. Also while in the private sector, Gary implemented a simple process improvement based on the Pareto principal at a $12 million remanufacturing facility, which resulted in an 80% improvement in on-time delivery. These are but two examples of many that Gary led throughout his private sector career.
In 2001, Gary changed career paths and began supporting the U.S. Federal Government. Since then he has lead large and small teams supporting the U.S. Air Force (U2 Program), DARPA (Wireless Technology), Bureau of Engraving and Printing (Verification and Validation Testing), and Health and Human Services (508 Compliance). For the past 10 years, Gary has supported the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) managing and supporting their performance and accountability reporting and organizational performance management processes. Under Gary’s leadership, DHS has improved their organizational performance management and is considered best-in-class in many aspects of performance management within the Federal Government.
